Before going to Dr. Whinery, I learned to talk and laugh without moving my mouth because I was so self-conscience about my teeth. The stress in my life caused me to grind my teeth down to almost nothing! I tried to correct the problem and had some work done in California, but that made matters worse. People of all ages sit in your chair, confident of your services as a dentist. Countless thankyou's, or smiles let you know that you are appreciated. But for some, those same services you provide to so many simply means more.

You never know how is sitting in your chair, just like you cannot tell a book by its cover. For some, dental care is not just a routine visit twice a year or so. It is more...

As a child, I was exposed to issues that made oral care impossible for me. Trauma settles in funny places, it seems. Most often, children with similar childhoods wear the scars through adulthood, as I do. When dentistry became necessary, it also became an unpleasant issue that brought back all sorts of equally unpleasant memories. I did not know if I could successfully be treated, because I didn't know if I could open my mouth. What would I say? I had a panic attack before my visit.

Regardless of that fact, your chair side manner was and is most calming. You are gentle and kind and patient, as is your staff. In short, after several visits, my dentistry fears are gone. You cannot know how embarrassing it is as an adult to confess a lifetime of negligence in oral care, or how liberating it is to be able to overcome oral fears. I thank you for that.

Most often we do not realize that impact we may have on others lives. We doubt the impact one can make in this world, or the part in that that kindness plays. Countless people may cross our path in a day, much less the course of a lifetime. One never knows when kindness to another may amount to much more than simple kindness.

Again, thanks for soothing the fears of an adult with lingering childhood issues. I will no longer be neglecting dental health.

Hi Guys,

I was thinking of you this week a few times. First Bill, I went to see Tom Whinery for my exam. He is awesome. What an incredible experience. I actually felt pampered and respected. He is a very skilled physician and provides such quality care and also makes you feel special. He spends more time than I have ever had with a dentist. Great bedside manner and he had very nice things to say about you and Emily. His staff is great, Marilyn, his office manager, and Lisa, the hygienist. Thanks for the referral. My mom and Bill will be changing.

That last dentist I went to 2 and a half years ago told me I needed tons of things done. Dr. Whinery said I had absolutely no problems.
